Being between sky, land and sea is one of the most delicious sensations in the world!
Feel transported, be weightless while having your feet on the ground, feel at the end of the world and find yourself outside of time. This is what happened with us yesterday in Syros, in the north of the island.
We were a group of men and women who love nature hikes. The day started at 9am under cloudless blue skies. The weather is very nice and the temperature was ideal for hiking.
We skirted a steep slope down to the sea where we landed on a small cove with blue and clear water. The beach of Klisoura. Some of us couldn’t resist taking a little dip.
After a short stop on this beach, we continued our way along another slope until we reached a small village of 10 inhabitants: Plati Vouni. This picturesque village is known for its large expanses of vineyards. It produce one of the best wines in the region.
We then made another stop on the forecourt of a small church nestled between the houses of this village. And there, I was pleasantly touched by a villager who kindly offered us water to drink. A gesture that reflects the pure kindness of the Syrossians.
All along the route, we admired the beautiful flourishing vegetation colored by the azure of such a beautiful sky. The scents that emanated from thyme and rosemary caressed our nostrils and exalted our senses.
After 4 hours of hiking, we returned to Ermoupoli which is the main town. Well relaxed, the body filled with oxygen and energy and the heart full of dreams and escape!!
